MouseHunt 3 UPGRADED!

Posted in Uncategorized on June 9th, 2010 by admin – 2 Comments

Everybody love Facebook, many of them play social game in FB. One of the greatest game is Mousehunt.

MouseHunt is a popular Facebook application in which players, referred to as hunters, catch mice with a variety of traps in order to earn experience points and virtual gold through passive gameplay. From time to time the developers add new locations and mice as well as sponsor periodic giveaways and tournaments. MouseHunt was developed by HitGrab, Inc. under the direction of Bryan Freeman and Joel Augé and released to a select group of participants for beta testing in early 2008. On 7 March 2008, MouseHunt was officially released to the general public.

And now, Mousehunt has ben upgraded into version 3! It has a new features:

Instant-Updating Journals

Sounding the Hunter’s Horn no longer reloads the page to update your journal. Your journal entry will automatically be added to the your journal when sounding the horn from the camp page. If you happen to sound the horn from a page other than camp, your journal entry will appear just below the heads up display.

Camp Page Trap Selector

The camp page now has a quick-change trap selector to make changing your trap setup (including bait) quicker and easier than ever before. Just click the icons below the image of your trap on the camp page to pull up your inventory. From there, you can change your base, weapon or bait.

New Travel Page

The travel page has been given an overhaul and a new interface. It’s now easier than ever to navigate the MouseHunt map and see what types of shops a location has! Traveling also no longer reloads the page. Just click the ‘Hunt Here’ button to travel instantly!

Inventory Page Changes

We’ve reorganized a few things in the inventory, and removed the need for a page reload when using/arming items from the inventory. Bases and weapons now have sub-tabs under the traps section. The crafting interface has also been vastly improved with a new ‘Recipe Book’ added to the page. With the Recipe Book, it’s now much easier to craft previously crafted items in any quantity you wish. We’ve also moved all novelty items to their own section. Lastly, there is NO chance of failure when you now craft (no red slot). You will retain your ingredients if it fails.

Mice Page Changes

As the number of mice in the game grew, the ‘Mice’ page became cumbersome and began to load extremely slowly due to the number of mice being displayed. We’ve reorganized the layout with sub-tabs to make browsing mice easier.

Mice no longer have power types. As newer, more unique areas were added to the game the power type system became inconsistent. For example, although all the mice of Derr were listed as Physical, you could not use Tactical weapons to catch them like you could for most other physical mice. To correct this inconsistency, the mice are now all organized into groups that have similar weaknesses in similar areas.

Extra ‘Give to Friends’ Items

We’ve expanded the functionality of the ‘Give to Friends’ page to allow players to send more than just SUPER|brie+. At this time, we’ve added Moon Cheese and Maki Cheese. We may add additional items in the future, based on user feedback.

Many WordPress sites will provide a selection of themes when you install your blog. The abundance of themes and plugins available for WordPress is the main reason for its incredible popularity. Best Car for 2010

Posted in Sport, Tips on May 22nd, 2010 by admin – 1 Comment

Maybe the dust is settling. After a year of bankruptcies, massive recalls, brand shutdowns and Cash for Clunkers, the storms that have tossed the automotive industry may be blowing out. The recovery may be fragile and patchy, but it’s there.

Amid all the industry turmoil, it’s easy to forget about the spark that drives the car industry: consumers. After being battered with enough industry news to drown even the most perceptive analyst, car shoppers are still left with one question: which car should I buy?

The Awards

Especially now, it’s all about value. U.S. News created the Best Car for the Money awards to identify the cars that should make anyone’s short list. The awards highlight cars, trucks and SUVs that will not only please their owners the day they drive off the dealer lot, but will keep them – and their wallets – happy for years to come.

The awards are based on U.S. News’ automotive rankings and estimated five-year cost of ownership from IntelliChoice. Combining the rankings with real-world costs helps to identify cars that are loved by of the majority of car reviewers and that provide good long-term value.

The Winners

Across 23 award categories, roughly a quarter of the award winners come from Toyota or Lexus, Toyota’s luxury division. As you might expect, Toyota wins the Hybrid Car category, with the Prius, and Lexus wins the Hybrid SUV category with the RX Hybrid. However, not all Toyota award winners are so green: the Toyota Sequoia, Land Cruiser and FJ Cruiser also each take awards.

There are other surprises. In the compact and subcompact car classes, where you might expect Honda to dominate, the winners are the Nissan Versa and the Hyundai Elantra. Hyundai is also a spoiler with the Genesis, which beat out entries from BMW, Lexus and Infiniti to win Best Upscale Midsize Car for the Money.

As has been the case all year, the performance of domestic car companies varies. Chrysler didn’t manage to win any awards, and while General Motors won two last year, this year they only took home the Best Luxury Sports Car for the Money Award, for the Chevrolet Corvette. Ford, who didn’t have any U.S. News Awards in 2009, wins the family sedan class with the new Ford Taurus. The Ford F-150, a perennial best-seller, wins the Best Full-Size Truck for the Money.

What You Need to Know

The award winners range from tiny subcompacts to hulking trucks, fuel-sipping hybrids to gas guzzling SUVs. As different as they all are, they also have something in common: each offers a combination of day-to-day livability and value when compared to other cars in its class. While some of the winners may not set car enthusiasts’ hearts racing, they showcase a blend of features that appeals to the majority of shoppers. Sure, there may be cars that offer more style, more cachet, or better 0-to-60 times, but the Best Car for the Money awards honor cars that aren’t just good at one thing – they are good at many.

Iron Man 2 – Review

Posted in Movie on May 5th, 2010 by admin – 1 Comment

Of all the megabudget effects franchises, the slick, well-oiled Iron Man might be the hardest to get a purchase on. He’s guaranteed to make a fortune, but this hero in a metal suit doesn’t have the emotional accessibility of Spider-Man, Batman’s growling rage, or even the lunkheaded sensibility of a Transformer.

It doesn’t help that there’s a near-complete visual disconnect between our flying tin man and Robert Downey Jr, who plays billionaire arms entrepreneur Tony Stark. The computer-generated superhero, with his aerial pyrotechnics and stern, implacable mask, occupies a different movie altogether from Downey, whose job is to wallow slyly in wealth and entitlement, and then sit back when the whizzy graphics take over.

With his new-found bankability and knowingly debauched charm, Downey’s absolutely the right star to do this. He’s essential to everything that’s pretty entertaining about Jon Favreau’s Iron Man 2 – basically, its winking awareness of what an obscenely expensive corporate product it is in itself. Like Stark’s many toys and gizmos, it cost a bomb – $200 million – and, like Stark Industries, it’s simply too big to fail.

When the series’ running gags are about Stark’s inexhaustible passion for hardware, his tendency to trash his ludicrous playboy pad without so much as wincing, and all the dough he’s generally rolling in, it’s no surprise that “more is more” is the governing principle of this unrestrained sequel.

More is often more. Mickey Rourke, as a lugubriously-accented Russian baddie called Whiplash, counts as more, even if you can practically see the dollar signs flashing in his eyes. Sam Rockwell, enjoyably smarmy as a rival manufacturer, is right up at the “more” end – he gets the single best scene, delivering a rhapsodic encomium to a state-of-the-art warhead that I guarantee will find a permanent home on YouTube.

But more can be less, too. Not so much a case of too many cooks as too many new ingredients, this invites ominous comparisons to the cluttered and alienating Spider-Man 3. The plot has to shuttle Stark between all manner of conflicts at once.

He’s being set upon by Whiplash because of a badly explained grudge, trying not to relinquish his patents to the US military, needing to prevent Rockwell’s Justin Hammer plagiarising his weapon-suits, and falling out with reluctant sidekick Rhodey (Don Cheadle, replacing Terrence Howard) over Tony’s irresponsible penchant for drunken target practice. If this weren’t enough, the palladium core that both powers his suit and keeps shrapnel out of his heart is slowly killing him.

That’s a lot of fiddly gripes for a single hero to micro-manage, and a movie with no dominant threat or storyline to juggle competently. Plus, there’s Scarlett Johansson, greedily drafted in as a legal aide/secret agent called Black Widow, and so obviously there to up the film’s booty quotient she gets nothing to do but pout, perform a few swivel kicks, and irritate Gwyneth Paltrow.

However much Justin Theroux’s script fails in oomph terms (pretty badly), it’s full of good banter and throwaway grace notes; though not as turbo-charged as the original, it’s funnier and less politically off-putting. The set pieces, particularly an abrupt contretemps during the Monaco Grand Prix, and a clanking set-to between Tony and Rhodey, are handled with a nicely flippant showmanship, without the heaving desperation of most effects showdowns to outdo every other blockbuster in history.

If the movie often borders on smug, it’s equally happy to be only lightly reverent to the comics it’s based on. And I’d defend it as smug on purpose – one long, high-fiving in-joke about its own sure-fire success.

Windows Phone 7

Windows Phone 7

Microsoft took the wraps off of Windows Phone 7 Series (the official name for Windows Mobile 7) here Monday at Mobile World Congress. Slated to launch on handsets by holiday season 2010, Windows Phone 7 Series is a complete overhaul from previous versions of the OS.

Slick, Touch-Friendly User Interface

If you’re familiar with the Zune HD’s user interface, you’ll feel right at home with Windows 7. Microsoft hinted that the Zune and Windows Mobile teams were working closely and you can definitely see this relationship in Series 7. The menus and interface have the same fluid animations and clean typeface as the Zune HD’s.

The Quick Launch screen is a far-cry from the old Windows Mobile start screen. Large, colorful tiles serve as shortcuts to your most-used or favorite apps or Web sites. You can also place live tiles on the screen with links to your Facebook profile or friends.

These tiles are live, meaning if the content of the app or site is updated, the tile will update on your screen. So if you have a link to a friend’s Facebook profile on your Quick Launch screen, that tile will update when they change their picture. It is a bit creepy if you don’t know them very well, but cool nonetheless.

With a tap and drag, you can easily move them around in any order you like or press a broken heart icon to remove them from the screen. Swiping right takes you to a list of all of your apps. If you want to move one of your apps to your Quick Launch display, you simply press down on the app and select “add to quick launch.” When you’re in an app, you’ll see a row of other menu options at the top of the display. Like the Zune, you can “pan” through these menu items with a flick of your finger. If you want to go back to the previous menu, you simply hit the arrow key at the top of the interface. read more »
